1. The service
Unpile is a free Chrome extension, published by Damien Flandrin (Gekkode), that lets you search for and delete emails in your own Gmail™ account through Google’s official Gmail API. By installing or using Unpile, you accept these terms.
2. Free software, provided as is
Unpile is free: there is no fee, no subscription and no paid option. It is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may improve, change or stop Unpile at any time.
3. Your responsibility
You choose which emails to delete. Before confirming, check the number of emails found and the preview, and use “Check in Gmail” if in doubt. Only use Unpile on accounts you are allowed to manage, in line with your organization’s rules for work or school accounts.
4. Trash and permanent deletion
- Move to trash (the default): Gmail keeps trashed emails for 30 days, then deletes them automatically. Until then, you can restore them with Undo or from the Gmail trash.
- Delete forever: emails are erased without going through the trash. This is irreversible: neither Unpile nor the publisher can recover them.
5. Google services
Unpile relies on Gmail and Google Chrome, which Google provides under its own terms. Their availability, limits (such as the number of requests Gmail accepts) and changes are outside our control. Your use of Gmail remains governed by Google’s terms.
6. Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by French law, Unpile is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. The publisher is not liable for the loss of emails you chose to delete, for interruptions caused by Google’s services, your network or your computer, or for indirect damage.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, nor the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
7. Intellectual property and trademarks
The Unpile name, logo, code and the content of this website belong to the publisher and may not be reused without permission, subject to legal exceptions.
Gmail and Google Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC. Unpile is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
8. Privacy
How Unpile handles data is explained in the privacy policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Continuing to use Unpile after a change means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of the mandatory protections of their country of residence. In case of disagreement, please contact us first so we can look for an amicable solution.
